Seriously? That movie won 4 academy awards, two Cannes awards, and swept box offices when it came out. It was one of the top 100 movies in the US for a couple years.
I know. That's the kicker. All the awards for such a stinker adds insult to misery.
For some reason I ended up watching the Primetime Emmy Awards a few weeks ago. One thing that was immediately apparent was it's VERY different from the Motion Picture Academy awards...mainly in that I'd actually HEARD of most things that were nominated, and shows that won were ones I actually knew were great shows, or had heard from others that were. A couple of things I hadn't heard of (Like PBS series "Downton Abbey") was nominated so many times I decided to watch it, and it's very good.

Academy awards always end up being art house crap that nobody wants to watch, nobody did watch, and if you watched it later you'd wonder why it won anything.

Basically, the academy awards are shit and in no way indicative of a movie you'd want to see.

I love movies, all types, even Keanu flicks. Hands down, the worst large production movie I've seen is Ai, with bowfinger coming in second.

To me the worst movies are the ones that are way to drawn out, slow, boring and completely shitty story. Heres my top three

    1) Contact
    2) the postman
    3) Castaway

I was young and unfamiliar with the cruel realities of the film industry, but the real reason was i needed the money. $5.00 and a free lunch. It was the 60's in California and it seemed like the thing to do at the time. Everybody else was doing it. I haven't been in a movie since. Unless you count those porno's (maybe 30 or so) we did out in the valley. Got tired of Holmes wining about how inadequate and small he felt when I was there, so I gave it up. gergz
