I like the look of them. Can't say I've ever fired one or even picked one up.
I would also be curious to see some peoples views on this.

I looked into buying one earlier this year and I decided to pass. i've heard nothing but bad things about them, so I never picked one up or even tried to shoot one. sams guns had a bunch of these a while ago, and they lowered the cost on these to ridiculous lows just to get rid of them. this video does a very good job of "reviewing" the pistol: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qZxtOvQzAKo

he also does another "follow up" video on the gun, and it didn't get any better. if I were you id keep an eye open for the GSG 1911-22. I have heard nothing but great reviews of that gun, im on the hunt for one but I never see them around anywhere.

did you ever hear the philosophy that once a man admits that he's wrong that he is immediately forgiven for all wrongdoings? Have you ever heard that? Wanted: K31 Swiss

    Re: CHIAPPA 1911 .22CAL

So I bought one after doing a little research. Seems like after a break in most run alright, but some can be a bitch.

    http://www.xdtalk.com/forums/non-xd-han ... ipe-3.html

I came across that thread, sounds like its just an extractor issue if it doesn't break in. so for about a hundred rounds I a failure every other mag which wasnt too bad after hearing reports of worse then I put a few mags through it with no issues. Then my father in law shot it he said it started jamming on him. I went home did a quick field strip, nothing out of the ordinary. I shot some hother .22 that I had so it was pretty clean.

My next trip to the range it fte 2 times at least per mag. Put a hundred frustrating rounds through it. I took it home field stripped again. This time where there is a notch in the breech for the extractor there was a tiny piece of brass stuck in there. I am thinking that was the culprit. I haven't taken it back to the range yet.

As for the feel of the gun I like it. The slide is light and feels cheap. Makes the gun almost feels solid. The trigger is heavy but not too bad. The front sight is black, so when using black bullseyes its hard to focus. Some paint would fix that.

I don't get why chiappa would release such a good gun and not address the fte issue. It cheapens an otherwise great gun. It runs worse than my hipoint did.

I would pass. Look at a GSG 1911-22 or Sig 1911-22 (same gun). Better built IMO.

+1 on the GSG 1911 .22 I have one and love it. Besides it shares many parts with standard 1911 and is not made out of pot metal.

I love my GSG. I had a guide rod break. Contacted ATI and had a new rod and spring within a week. That's OUTSTANDING customer service.
