    idea for new members

I've noticed lately a lot of members with one or two posts all ready breaking the rules (ie. sending offers in threads). My idea is that before their accounts are completely active they have a a small amount of time that the only thing they can access is the reference section. Just till it shows as read. It might stop a lot of thread crapping. maybe not, just my .02 what do you all think?

Honestly it sounds like a great idea

Really I think all you need to do is make them read the rules/stickies before thier account is 100% active. Maybe after reading a small quiz then activation is complete.

The rules are fine. Newbies just need to read them. A couple of the new idiots recently didn't even seem to care they were violating the rules.

Something to get their attention. A nakid night in a pup tent with some of the sicker brothers here - threat enough?

I would like to volunteer, to be the official SGN representative. Basically I could see my role as a guide or mentor to the new members.
When a new member has something for sale they should run it by my desk first, if everything checks out I'll release it.
I'll check for typos and such things as to not piss off current more established members. I see this as a win-win!

Lord if I die, please don't let my wife sell my guns for what I told her I paid for them.

I think a quiz or something is a good thing to do.

I see a lot of bad ads and just z then think to myself "Whiskey Tango?!?!?" (yes I think in phonetics)

How many of us read the software agreements before clicking, "I Agree"? jestera

Meanwhile, use your best manners and sentence structure (even from cell phones). ks
