So...the smaller the number the larger the caliber? Except the 250 that is like 4 or 5 calibers ...

The P239 is a 9mm so no, it's not the larger number = smaller caliber.
Also, the P230 is a .380 but was replaced by the P232, also in .380.

    Also note 40 is 40/357Sig

Just need the correct barrel for the caliber.

239 is essentiallly a single stack variation of the 229, in 9, 40, and 357. 9 is slightly different dimensionally from the 40 and 357 chambered 239s, just to add to what was previously posted.

Glad you "like" yours. I had the same pistol a couple years ago. I wanted to like it, I actually think it looks like a bad ass gun. It is just to heavy for a nice carry gun and to small for a good duty gun. I also couldn't get it to shoot accurately like I can other guns I have now or have owned in the past. Give me a G23/G19 or an HK USP-C.

I love my Sig 220 ST but it is generally a range gun for me. I am still awaiting the day that any gun in my hand makes me feel better than a perfect D cup tittie in my hand.

There are P220s in 9mm (the original caliber) but they're not common on this side of the pond. 99.99% .45 ACP. I am pretty darn sure all 9mm ones will be W. Germany marked full sized guns.

Yeah SIG used to keep it really simple but now they have a pretty broad catalog of handguns. Heck there are several varieties of the P220 when 10 years ago there was one.

Douché: Pronounced "do-shay" and used like "touché", but in reply to something done or said that's utterly douchetastic e.g. "Wow, you went and did a selfie in the spray tan booth. Douché!"
