That would be my guess. Mid 80's I had two 10meg hard drives, they weren't super expensive and I was awesome. But shit baby 640K Ram and going for 1meg of ram was like top dog shit.

Yep, I had 100 meggers in the early 90s, and even for my young and entry-level employed ass supporting a new family, I could still find a way to afford one. Had a 486/33 DX (full-floater mathco, baby!) when that chipset first became available. That thing was the shyat!

here it is almost thirty years later and all I can understand is: "Back in the early 90's I had a %34h$R\9h&*# (full floater Mathco, baby!)" <and I don't know what a Mathco is. I'm an anachronism and a Luddite.

486/66DX2 with EISA MB and SCSI controller. I think I was up to 120MB by then, and I BELIEVE full boat was 8MB RAM, maybe 16MB, can't remember. Shit now I have 32GB RAM.

I had one of the PS/2's and I remember it was a 486/66 like you just said Pablo. I took a Basic class in college and wrote a couple of programs that would perform simple math problems or sort numbers or something.... then tried to take a PASCAL class but got so bored my eyes crossed and I gave up on computers for anything other than porn until I found Gunbroker and SGN five or six years ago.
