Get a Remington 1100 and start with that or an 870. Both are a good choice. I'd say stay away from benili all the ones I've seen in the field have had issues... Idk why but they all jamed. When I go I load either 2 3/4 3 3 1/2 or 3 3 3 1/2 depends on what I'm shooting. Kent fast steal was the best thin I've seen in the field for goose hunting. Be cautious of barrel length. I use a 28in with a changeable choke in my 870 express. When you get it o shoot some 16yard trap and also some continental. Get used to swinging differently de pending on the target. You can hunt duck with a 20guage it's a little harder but I did it as a kid for a long time.

    Re: Duck Hunting......

I never said finding the x was easy. I hunt almost exclusively public land and have seen it all when it comes to other slob hunters etc. the best thing I've figured out is to hunt weekdays and get to spots that are harder to access, less chance of pressure. I've networked with a bunch of guys on forums and had a blast hunting with them. I plan to hit it even harder this year. Unfortunately the job won't allow as much weekday hunting but I'll work with what I've got.

I'll be using a storger m2000 for duck this year, my buddy using a Benelli nova. Any recommendations on what shot to use? Or equipment that you feel is a must for a couple of beginners? Thanks for the input.

Shoot and pattern a few different loads for your gun to see what works best. For ducks size 6 (small ducks) to size 4 (mallards) should be fine. Steel is cheaper but will shoot a lot different than tungsten blends. I like Federal Black Cloud and Bismuth but the later is really pricey so I stick with steel & Black Cloud.
