Packing Heat at Starbucks tomorrow??? (Aug. 9)

Thought id share this...I wasn't aware of this event untill a few minutes ago...

    http://blog.seattlepi.com/seattlepol...-to-starbucks/

Gun owners across America plan to on Friday go armed to Starbucks outlets when getting their morning (noon and evening) coffee, as part of an “I Love Guns and Coffee” campaign, and a show of appreciation to the coffee giant for letting customers pack heat when it accords with state law.

“It’s a grassroots effort organized on Facebook,” said Jim Childers of Whidbey Arms, who laments that his his South Whidbey store is 40 miles from the nearest Starbucks outlet.

Starbucks has refused a bid by the Brady Campaign, the nationwide advocacy group supporting handgun control, that customers go unarmed to get their coffee. The “Starbucks Appreciation Day” is the second such event: The first was a “Gun Owners Support Starbucks Day” last February.

Never go to Starbucks, never seen the need. If they don't support 2A, why should I buy their 5 dollar coffee?

I went to one a little while back, but I think I will make an effort to attend this event and buy some black coffee. Last time I carried my HK and a lady sat behind me and asked what was going on which lead to an amazing conversation. She was happy to see this as a good example for her daughter to learn from.

But they need to stop posting this kind of stuff on Facebook only.

Speaking with some authority here, Starbucks gives a flying fuck about your rights. They want to sell coffee. They don't care to take any stand that doesn't increase sales and profits. Standing against the 2nd amendment costs sales. Standing against the pussy protectionist anti-gunners costs sales. Releasing a statement that they don't have a problem with anyone as long as they carry legally, doesn't cost as many sales.

But doesn't that still mean they are "cool" with that? I mean I get your point, but the typical stance from their position would more likely be rabid against, given the position in the community, etc.
