Re: Packing Heat at Starbucks tomorrow??? (Aug. 9)

Last time around, the anti gun people called on Starbucks to ban firearms in all their stores. Starbucks reply was basically" We don't have a dog in this fight." we abide by whatever the laws are in each location. When the antis heard this, they called for a boycott. On boycott day, starbucks recorded an increase in sales, thanks in part to the efforts of gun owners to show up and buy coffee that day.

I am in earnest, I will not equivocate, I will not excuse, I will not retreat a single inch, and I will be heard.

What more reason do we need to OC today?

What the hell is this thread about? After I saw Urban X`s avatar I forgot. oh yeah coffee. if they had sided with anti`s we would be bashing and boycotting them but because they are doing what`s right we should let them know and maybe other businesses will follow suit, even if I don`t like their coffee.

Yeah... Urban is not helping any of us out here. But then again, your farmer is just as distracting.

But i agree that we need to support them... Even if their coffee sucks. Well, the blonde roast isn't so bad. I plan to carry my USP in the thigh holster

I never had any issues with SB while I was OC. As far as I know SB is pro-guns. At least here, in WA.

This is comical....Howard Schultz is about as Liberal as they come. They never said they supported the 2A....all they said is they do not want to take a side. All showing up armed to a Starbucks is going to do is freak out the local Lib's and make us all look like wack jobs.

Here is a quote from Howie:

"In an exclusive interview to air on "Nightline" tonight, Schultz admitted guns in Starbucks are at odds with his vision of what the company should be. But the Fortune 500 CEO said: "I'm not a politician. I run a coffee company and we're trying to abide by the laws in which we do business."

I OC at my local Sb all the time. Nothing new here.

If we all decide as gun owners to go to SB and they are OK with us spending money there, that doesn't mean they are "pro 2A."

If SB creates a day/event/etc specifically for gun owners that would be pro 2A in my book. But that's in "snowball's chance in hell" territory.

Douché: Pronounced "do-shay" and used like "touché", but in reply to something done or said that's utterly douchetastic e.g. "Wow, you went and did a selfie in the spray tan booth. Douché!"

I look at it as "positive reinforcement" to let the company know that we are out there and can/do make a difference to their business...

This also gives us another opportunity to demonstrate that guns in public areas doesn't erupt into "cowboy/gansta'" style shootouts that the anti-left like to fantasize would happen and try so hard to sell to the un-informed citizens.

In addition, this is an example for other companies and businesses to learn from. They may not agree with our outlook on guns but they could at least honor our rights!
