NiteScout 9mm Test Fire Opportunity!!! *updated, pics added*

    Hey SGNers!

Some of you may have heard of an MP5-style pistol called the "Nite Scout" that was recently released by a little-known company called Nite Scout, LLC. It's a reengineered version of the Lusa design that borrows some key characteristics from the MP5, and takes UZI mags. The weapon has been advertised in the CDNN flyer, and is featured on Atlantic Firearms' website. Only one review has been written on it so far, and it didn't provide much information, so... my curiosity has gotten the better of me. :P

I've decided to purchase one and (while i'm at it) write up a very detailed review and range report on it. Since the weapon has not really hit the major marketplace yet, I figured some of you out there might want the opportunity to put some rounds though it. The time and place of the test firing has yet to be determined - I might schedule multiple shoots in different areas, depending on how many people want to try it out. (If anyone wants to join me for a beer after the shoot, the invitation is open to all SGNers.)

I only ask two things of participants:

    1. Bring a box of 9mm factory ammo.
I'm trying to get the widest range of ammo though this thing as I can in order to accurately rate its performance. Factory spec ammo (or factory reloads) only, please - I need to document the brand, grain, and specs in my review. If you want to bring your own UZI mags, you're more than welcome to.

    2. Tell me what you think about it.
I'll provide a feedback form for you to fill out - nothing long or crazy, just a basic "what did you think about it" kind of thing. Your input will go into the review as a statistical basis of weighing the overall performance and functionality of the weapon from a consumer's standpoint. The more people that provide feedback, the more accurate my review will be.

NiteScout appears to be a pretty open-minded company that takes consumer feedback seriously. For example, in the other review that was done on it, the reviewer noted that the mag release could be improved... since then, NiteScout has developed an improved mag release that will be made available to consumers who want to upgrade their Model A's. I hope that with a greater pool of people giving their input, we can provide constructive feedback to the company on how they could improve their product (if needed), and more information to other consumers who might be thinking about buying one.

Let me know if you're interested!

    @ benja455: PM sent!

@ XDM9cWA: I'll be there with a decent amount of ammo, so you can burn a clip or two, no prob. As long as you're willing to provide feedback on it, that works for me.

    @ Jim1019: Cool - I'll keep you posted!
