I was also a Rigger that got put in a combat job downrange working with and training the ANA. Had duties inside and outside the wire.
    You were a Rigger?!

No, and I don't claim to be either. If the shit talkings gonna start because I wasn't a bang bang then have at it. I know what I did and I'm proud of serving my country. A news flash for you we don't pack chutes in combat, we get paired with Infantry teams, sling loads, ECP, patrols, BDOC, and many different other jobs, combat roles and support roles.

I just always figured you were Infantry or a Scout or something...never would of guessed Rigger.

I'll refrain from talking shit, because I've never even heard of what Riggers might do while deployed before your last post. Don't need to get defensive, battle. I was just surprised.

No I really thought you were also from the way you posted. I figured they whored you out to the infantry unites to do things with them.

I never got along with the riggers in garrison. on caserma ederle it was the Infantry, Riggers, and 88 Mikes and handful of support like supply and coms ect. Small post literally could walk anywhere on post in 15 mins. Majority of my buddies were bang bangs and a couple riggers. Never fit in with the POG's even though I was one.

Did you guys wear the red baseball hats? Wasn't sure if that's real or just hearsay..

Must have been interesting the first time you jumped with a chute you packed yourself...

I'm not going to say anything infantry wasn't the only people seeing combat in afghanistan.

As far as your reactions go. I understand to a point, I still have a personal kit ready and set up "just in case" but I grown to learn its part of PTSD and its a state we have to learn to descend from.

If you need to see help, please do its nothing "little" of seeing somebody who can help you live your life with more peace of mind.

If you need to have somebody else take your guns and your kit but its a reason why the first thing they do when we get stateside is take our rifles right after clearing customs...
