Fukishimia(stupid nuke plant) should we be scared?

I haven't really been paying attention to it. But my wife says that it's starting to steam and that there is 90 tons of waste that can go up in the air. The article says get duct tape and plastic to cover windows and light switches and prepare as such. The article was from a source I've never heard of. I figure it is relatively safe for being something that people can't go in and fix. I need to calm my wife down.

    No worries yet.
News stories are trying to make it sound like the end of the world.

    Yes and no.

Should be scared in the fact the company hasnt really been truthful and there are still problems. The levels are high in the area of the reactor but they are working on things.

Shouldnt be scared as dilution is the solution. Its got a huge amount of water and air space to cover to reach us. Take what you read from those random sites with a grain of salt...they want the fear in you.

ps...a good way to tell if a site is legit or not is to see how they use contamination and radiation. If they cant even get those two correct do you really trust them? Ive seen way to many sites saying things that make no sense if you know the meaning of the two. Easy way to know....contamination is the poop. Radiation is the smell given off by the poop :)

Didn't make Drudge or The Blaze, so no need to worry.

Douché: Pronounced "do-shay" and used like "touché", but in reply to something done or said that's utterly douchetastic e.g. "Wow, you went and did a selfie in the spray tan booth. Douché!"

"Should be scared in the fact the company hasnt really been truthful and there are still problems."

The problem is that they lied so much, and with apparent support of the gov't., how can we know what is true or not?
I agree that there are a lot of fear mongers. That makes knowing that much more difficult. t seems a bit odd that the Japanese government is getting so hinky about the Chinese territorial aggression of late, yet speaks to Fukushima in what seems to be a minimalist approach. The Japanese launched a huge ship rated as a destroyer, last August, that has a 860 foot long flight deck. They say it will carry 16 helicopters for patrol and anti-submarine work. They have 5 more in the works. If it looks like a duck, quacks like a duck and has an 860 foot long flight deck it is it a duck?

In fact if you are worried make sure you are using salt with iodine in it, and sprinkle a little extra on your food and drink more water.
