Switzerland AKA The Bank of Europe is pretty protected by it's neighbors. However, they also carry a military force of 125K men....for a population of 8 million in a country about the size of Texas.

However, Switzerland is a perfect example of a prosperous economy. Tax rates that hover around 20% and full of highly skilled labor and bam...perfection. Their loans to the rest of the EU could be their demise at some point...time will tell.

Politics is a dirty business. You can't assume that the Libertarians would not hop right in the warm pool of water. It's a dirty game of chess...that will never change....it has always been that way...and always will.

Dunno what the Libertarian Party would do as it is a moot point. What libertarians will do is another issue. You are correct about politics being dirty.

That has a lot to do with the construct of the US Constitution. Said Constitution is under attack by dirty politicians of many labels and stripes. For directions on how to deal with dirty politicians, see the Constitution.

Few allie nations don't rely on both trade and military protectionism from the United States. Using Switzerland is cherry picking at its finest. Heck, let's use real examples, like the bulk of Europe, the UK (one of the strongest independent nations in the world, and one of few superpowers). And if the Swiss were invaded, we all know the EU and NATO/UN and the US would step in immediately anyway. We have special ops in every friendly and even enemy nation in the world, safe houses everywhere, embassies everywhere.... etc. Everyone spies on everyone and it's no secret. We are prepared to move anywhere in the world instantly for good reason... seems like that is stating the obvious but some folks just don't seem to understand. Next time you go on a foreign vacation, you realize that you can only safely do so because there are a lot of brave men who guard against terrorism at millions of checkpoints. Same with fueling up your car. That oil travels safely across the globe - safe from terrorism or theft as it's pumped from the ground, put on a ship, shipped thousands of miles through various channels and ports, all the way to the refinery and your gas station... it's all an international delicate balance.

As for the pokes at McCain, Palin, Romney, and Ryan... anyone who thinks Bozo the clown couldn't have done a better job than Obama over the last 6 years has no credibility. I don't know what these Repulicans would have delivered, but I know what we would NOT be sucking left with...

Obamacare, as a failed policy in general, and an implementation that wasted a half-billion dollars on a website (It would have been cheaper to just give everybody that needed insurance a cash handout).
9 Trillion more in debt, and rapidly counting
Failed Iraq war, irresponsible exit, and ISIS and beheaded Americans on TV
Using the IRS to target political enemies and lying about it
Using the NSA to target political enemies and lying about it
Firing a large number of very competent military leaders
Eric Holder's "Justice" Department which is covering up scandals at a break neck pace
2 extremely liberal and young SCOTUS appointees, with 1 more likely. 300 liberal Federal Judge appointees
Fast and Furious scandals that cost lives, including at least 1 American (yes I'm aware of the ceased program under Bush that was tenuously related)
VA scandal that led to many dead veterans
Failed Afghanistan war - Obama has had this war as long as Bush now.
Failed international relationships with huge nations, friend and foe alike, including the Russian reset.
Watching impotently as Russia is on a land grab, sending idle threats their way
Iran 6 years closer to nukes
China and N. Korea continue to poke our security
Horrible economy with minimum wage increases to $15/hr, which is a form of inflationary pressure, along with printing trillions of dollars which deflate the US dollar value
Wide open Mexico border, and disasterous amnesty executive order
Failed policy in Syria where idle threats weakened us.
Irresponsibly deposing Khadaffi which created a terrorism vacuum in Egypt, with no plan
Benghazi, dead Americans, and Obama, Clinton and Rice looking into the camera and LYING to the American people
    Trading 5 terrorists for a traitor/deserter
Releasing hordes of terrorists from Gitmo irresponsibly
    Cash for clunkers
Hundreds of billions in failed automotive and bank bailouts which cost tax payers tons of money
Some 15% real unemployment, with most households on some form of welfare or disability or food stamps
Race relations worse now than in the 1980s according to polls and actual observation
More gun control in New York, CT, and Colorado (perhaps nothing to do with Obama and his calls for sweeping gun control after Newtown...hmmm...)
The embarrassing bows to foreign heads of state and world apology tour for being a great nation

Yeah, I could continue, but can almost assuredly say that none of this would have happened under Republican watch in the last 6 years. In fact, most of these issues would likely not have arisen or been handled much better. Sure, we may have experienced some other failures of unknown quantity/quality, but I can hardly believe it would be nearly as bad. Then again, having a person with religious convictions like not wanting to kill babies is pretty darn unforgivable, and much worst than drunk Uncle Joe and his numerous senile gaffs (if you didn't get that it was sarcasm).

In looking at the state of affairs, it's almost like a POTUS would need to put effort in destroying our nation to actually make it worse than this clown in office. This guy has just laid waste and make the worst possible decisions on nearly every conceivable issue. It doesn't shock me. The guy had NO experience! It's almost unthinkable that a POTUS could even get nominated or elected with NO real experience. None. He was an absent junior politician. A nobody. Never held a real job or had real responsibilities, employees, served his nation... nothing!

Not sure what Libertarians WOULD do, but I know what they generally do. Steal votes from Republicans, and cost elections in doing so.

If you didn't vote, or voted for anyone other than a Republican you can pat yourself on the back for the above list of Obama failures that will forever cripple our nation. Perhaps the worst President ever, and certainly the worst in the modern era.
