And abortion. It's okay to do everything "for the children" but it's okay to wipe 'em from the womb!

(BTW: I think you are brave to make your stance on these boards O_S, and would never discourage you from espousing your views, but you're going to have to have some thick skin to do so here< cheers!)

I know some people that thought Obama would get rid of Guantanamo, the patriot act, and other excesses, and since he hasn't they aren't planning on voting democrat anymore. Then I know some people who thought he'd do that, see he hasn't, but still consider him awesome and it confuses me a bit. I'm pretty sure they're cheering for their favorite sports team in politics, instead of considering the actual laws being enforced.

I would be curious for OP to create a one or two sentence summary of what he believes government's role is in the life of the people is supposed to be. In my personal experience, the divide is really as fundamental as a difference in the believed purpose of government.

I have a coworker that's a part time employee. Since the the passing of the AHA, we've had to cap our part time employees hours, or else it creates a huge issue. More than just being required to offer health insurance. So we hired a few people but, now they will make less money as full time employees and she was not interested in making less money and working more hours. She said to me, "FUCK OBAMA! I VOTED FOR THAT BASTARD TWICE!"

Thanks, Obama. For limiting my resources, labor pool, and making my job harder by limiting the amount of hours we can employ our best part-time talent and making me have to scrape the bottom of the barrel just to fill the calls for box pushers too. Our customers thank you as well.

    Nobama. Keep the change.

Oh. Black folks are sick of you too. You got most of their votes because you're not white but, "you haven't done anything for us."

    Any democrat members here?

I am registered as a democrat but I have not voted that way for decades. I just Never bothered to change it.

I am always curious about the " don't need xxx number of round Mags "

Why ? Do you really want the State telling you what you need or do not need?

When I read comments like yours I realize how much freedom we have lost.

Get ready with obama care they will be telling you what you need and don't need as well. Some may like it but I don't. I want the freedom to make my own choices.

    Re: Any democrat members here?

Garden variety Dem thinks these are important - gun control, pro union, pro abortion, anti-death penalty, pro social welfare, "equality," small military with women on the front lines, high taxes and big social spending. Big entitlements. Housing is a right. Healthcare is a right. Food is a right. Having a job is a right. Your stuff is my stuff. It's socialism, which always fails miserably and at great cost.

Dems generally are feel-good policies with little thinking involved, very short sighted.

Let's look at a few of these policies in action. Dems controlled Detroit for decades. Once the 5th most prosperous city in the US, Unions drove it into the ground. Now it's among the worst poverty and drugs and crime decayed city.

California - Dems have ruined the state. Very anti-gun too. Concealed carry nearly impossible.

Illinois - Chicago is perhaps the most corrupt city in the US. 4 of the last 7 Governors went to prison, and 3 of those were Dems. Very anti-gun too. Concealed carry nearly impossible.

US - Under Obama, our national debt grew faster than all other Presidents combined and doubled from about 9 Trillion to about 18 Trillion. Clinton gave us the AWB, and his DoD cutbacks and policies gave us several terrorist attacks, including the planning of 9/11 (in 1998), and WACO and OKC bombing.

Colorado. Once free and prosperous, Dems have taken control and started ruining the state and city of Denver. Passed several anti-gun laws including magazine capacity restrictions.

New York, Massachusetts, Maryland, etc. Very Democrat, and very anti-gun.

A Liberal will look at Ferguson and think it was the cops fault. Thankfully the Dems in charge there actually did their job and came to the right conclusion. So there are some good Dems out there, but they are the exception to the rule.

If that's your team, so be it. But it's nuts.

Republicans are generally for pro-gun, anti-union, pro-business, for strong military, and less concerned with social welfare programs.

Look at Republican cities and states. Generally more free, more prosperous, and pro-gun. Texas, Arizona, Utah, Tennessee, Kentucky, the SE, Florida, etc.

A vote for a Democrat is generally a vote for big nanny state Government and to take away your gun rights.

Never shop at Precise Shooter in Seattle. It's owned by anti-gun, anti-capitalist, pro Hillary voter. I defend the 2A. US Army Combat Veteran and Paratrooper: OIF x4. BSM and MSM recipient. NRA Lifetime. I'm a lawyer, but have not offered you legal advice.

That is what I was getting at in my question for the OP about what he thinks government's role in life is. A democrat thinks government is supposed to protect you from general harms. A more liberty focused individual thinks government is a contract between our fellow citizens to pool our resources to do beneficial projects that an individual could not, to enforce such laws as to allow us life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, and otherwise to stay the F out of the way.

Put another way, a democrat thinks a right to healthcare means the government should give its version of healthcare to everyone. A constitutionalist thinks a right to healthcare means the government won't make a law preventing you from getting healthcare in whatever form you want. They're mutually exclusive ways of thinking about government.

    Re: Any democrat members here?

    Yeah, just to elaborate further.

Liberals = big government = nanny state with total control cradle to grave = individuals don't have rights.

We've seen that play out. It leads to massive oppression, and no individual rights, and ultimately genocide.

    History is a good teacher.

Not that are not anti gun idiots in the Republican party, but you must readily admit, the Democrat party is largely for complete gun confiscation. How can THAT be a good thing?

IF YOU DON'T LIKE GUNS, THEN DON'T OWN ONE.
45 + rating, so between that and my CPL, you can't trust me, thanks to I-594! Thanks WA state.
