Irish lad with no business whatsoever being here really..

    Howdy folks,

Thought it only proper to introduce myself.

I literally just registered so that I could PM Morris about that Bushnell scope of his - it popped up in a google search I've been performing occasionally looking for one secondhand.

I'm a paddy, and I'm actually *in* Ireland, which kinda sucks on account of the way the firearms licencing regieme works over here - it's more than a little draconian. Howenever, I have myself a nice couple of Anschutz sporters, a 1417, a 1418 and a 1423 (I'm something of a fanboy) and a Fabarm Elos 12g. We can't get centerfire pistols here, or semi-auto centerfire rifles, and you've to have a specific reason, and a ticket for EACH firearm - so there's not much by way of 'collectors'. I'm also regular on rimfirecentral under the same handle as above, and our own native forum on boards.ie.

Mostly I shoot 10m ISSF air rifle, 50m ISSF prone, and some field-target; I use club rifles for the first two (saves me having to sort licences etc..), and my own for the latter. I also do a good bit of rabbit control on a local golfcourse and that's what the 1417 is for primarily.

So that's it, there you have it.

Shall do my best to contribute if I can and not just fly-by-night as it were.

    Cheers.

Irish are basically the same as Scottish and English right? Welcome aboard.
If I don't answer your PM, it's probably because I have determined that you are a low-life price gouger that is not worthy of my attention.

My favorite Irish hero was a Sergeant Timothy Murphy, with Morgan's Rifles at the Second
Battle of Saratoga. October 7, 1777.
Under orders, he sniped a Canadian/British Brigadier name of Simon Fraser. This turned the
tide of said battle, stopping a Sassenach invasion from Canada and bringing France in on
the side of the rebels. Fraser, in turn, is famous as a university and a river in Vancouver,
British Columbia are named for him. Any time you come here, please feel free to indulge
and flip the birds in Vancouver.

And now a formal welcome! Thanks for the PM also. Good to know there are people with a gun interest still in your part of the world.
