The name of the thread is ironic in that he started the thread.

Phew, that took too long. I felt embarrassed for new members.

Re: He really is an idiot.

I arrived kinda late. Kinda shocked reading through this thread. Someone really needed to "take a knee."

I'm far from a "radicalized" person. So let's just look at the scoreboard.

    Economy:
Dow is at 24,000 which reflects a 6,000 point jump in less than 1 year. Obama's 8 years reflected a total of 11,000 increase (7k to 18k), or less than 1,500 per year increase. Job market and housing starts are booming. Unemployment is at a very low 4.1%. Tax plan is likely to really give the middle class bigly relief. Repealing and dismantling Obama care finally.

Military: Higher morale, rebuilding the forces. Taking the fight to the enemy. Been no large ISIS attacks here under Trump. There were a lot under Obama. With the MOAB and missile strikes and so forth and actions in the middle east, we have retaken most of Iraq, and making progress in Syria, Afghanistan, etc. Taking NK to task. Will have a resolution to that problem soon, I'm confident.
Reversed the transgender military nonsense. Fixing the VA. Extended the GI Bill to never expire. And so forth. Getting us out of the Iran nuke garbage deal I believe.

    Homeland security.
Travel ban appears to being in effect. Building a wall. Deportations and illegal immigration are working bigly.
Feds are even prosecuting the Kate killer for Federal gun and immigration crimes. Obama probably would have given him a medal. Shutting down funding for sanctuary cities will protect Americans and save money. Cutting illegal immigration is a huge win economically, financially, and on the voter roles to clean them up, and protects Americans from illegals and terrorists trying to enter.

Finally identifying Terrorism as a higher threat than "global warming."

    Globally:
Restoring relations with many nations neglected by Obama. Namely Israel. But plenty of others. Yeah, there are some in Europe that are angry at him. Oh well. Those socialists have lost their ways. I'd say them being upset is probably a good sign. They are running their nations into the ground.
Got us out of the garbage Paris accord.

    SCOTUS:
Hugely win. Gorsuch and likely a few more to come. Lots of Federal judges too.

    Guns:
Gorsuch of course. And more to come. House passed the reciprocity act, which if it passes the Senate Trump will sign. Trump spoke at the NRA convention which is the first POTUS in decades to do so. It's almost a certainty that AWB type bans will get to the SCOTUS and these oppressive illegal state laws will be struck down. For me that's one of the most important cases I'm waiting to have happen.

    Laws:
Mandated to repeal 2 laws for any new law proposed IIRC.

    Media and Entertainment:
He's slowly dismantling these anti-American liars and frauds and they are imploding and eating each other and themselves. The fake news has been exposed and are collapsing. The entertainment industry too. And the NFL. Oh and I think the NFL withdrew it's tax exempt status in 2015, but all have now lost all federal tax relief as a "nonprofit" I think. I know that was supposed to be in the tax law. But the kneelers have taken a beating and been exposed.

    Lunatic liberals:
It's been very entertaining watching them lose their minds. And now they voted to impeach because they don't like him, and got a whopping 15% who still cannot articulate a broken law. But they are the equivalent of crybabies in Congress.
Daily whining and crying and kicking and screaming by the lunatics.

I give Trump an A-. Trump has also been dismantling and erasing the Obama garbage and liberal garbage which is what I hired him to do.

If you're a person hyper critical of Trump's tweets, or of his personality, then you probably need to take a deep breath and re-assess.

leadcounsel, good post, pretty much puts stuff into perspective.

Re-reading .308win's thread on a red-dot on an EDC carry pistol really reminded me of what a horse's ass JB could be even in threads that weren't political.

I have seen writing on the issue of the two for one rules and/or regulations generated by federal executive branch agencies. In that context, what
is the place in the pecking order for rules and regulations, vs. legislated law, vs. case law? And for that matter, executive orders.

Re: He really is an idiot.

Without quoting the whole message, I wholly approve of being critical or “hyper critical” of President Trump. But only because of the office he sits in, not because of who he is or the party he claims to be a part of. The office of the president has great power in the US of A, so being critical is good. But one should be equally critical of both their own “team” as well as the other. The choices the president makes, whomever they may be at the time, affects all of us regardless of which political party voted them into office. Listing all the bad shit Trump has done so far is fine, so long as you also list all the good shit, as well as the good/bad choices from the previous POTUS.

Ditto on corpsman’s question. I’ve heard of that rules, but never delved too much into the details.

Objective might be hard since it is probably a variety of things. I have talked with a few members no longer on the site and some have said it was the pay issue, some that they got tired of the attacks from some members, and then others said after it dropped off, there were not enough sales to make it worthwhile. Me personally, I just got busy and do not have much time to post so just check-in when I can. I still frequent SGN more than other sites.

I still hang on SGN because it's a bit of a "home" to me. It's where some good down-home, like-minded folk hang out. A nice diversion after a long day.
